High School Honor Roll Distinction
High School swimmer with more than 3 days per week practice are eligible for "distinction" status within extra curricular activities. Orcas Swim club is recognized as a "Major" co-curricular activity. Last year the board discussed and came up with a policy of participating three practices a week and two meets per season. However, there have been some inquiries about the number of practices for the 3 and 4 day week, as well as absences and sickness. After checking the criteria for other JV and Varsity sports and activities, we decided that we will pass the list of swimmers who participated 60% of practice and 2 days of swim meets. This will allow HS swimmers to make up for the missed practices due to shorter school weeks due to holidays as well as PACT days. Currently, there are 49 practices in the Fall season, 60% of 3x practices for the week will total of 30 practices in the season.
